Early Christmas Present for the Carters

Well Santa must have seen the Carter's house all decorated for the holidays and decided to leave an early Christmas present... 4.0 this semester for both of the Carters :)

I'm so excited, only one more semester to go then I'll have my Bachelor's :) Unfortunately Bryce is only like a 4th grader right now. He has quite a few difficult years ahead of him, but he loves what he is going into and he's going to make a great doctor. For those of you who haven't heard yet, we have paid our deposit to hold our seat at DMU (Des Moines University). Right now we are planning to spend the next 4 years in Iowa. We'll won't hear from the U of U until March, but right now we feel really good with our decision. Isn't it crazy how life changes so fast? I marry the man of my dreams and now I might be going to Iowa for a few years with him. Things we do for love :)

The Best Day Ever

Saturday was the best day ever!!! I was able to spend the entire day with my husband, we didn't have any homework or anymore finals to worry about, and we got our Christmas tree and decorations all set up. We're now ready for the holidays to come!!!

After spending six hours driving around Cedar looking for and buying Christmas stuff we finally decided on a "theme" for our Christmas tree. I had never heard of having a theme for your Christmas tree, but apparently a lot of people do it and it's the "cool thing" to do, so we just had to do it as well. I guess our color scheme for our tree is black, red and white (sound familiar... wedding colors and basically our entire house.)

After buying ribbon at Walmart I decided to make some of our Christmas tree decorations and made about 20 of these bows. They turned out much better than expected :)

Bryce spend forever wrapping all the lights around our Christmas tree. We decided we have 600 lights on our tree. First he wrapped the lights around the inside of the tree and then wrapped the remaining 300 around the outside of the tree. It took a lot of work, but I love how it turned out. Once we finished setting up the tree, lighting the tree, and making and put our decorations on the tree we were exhausted but very impressed with our little masterpiece. Now that school, finals, and most of our stress has disappeared we are ready to enjoy the Christmas season with loved ones. I'm even finally ready to begin playing Christmas music :) MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE (even though it's a few weeks early)

Institute Formal: Fallin for You

So after I got married I never expected to be asked to another formal dance, but Bryce definitely surprised me! Usually when I come home Bryce will come down the stairs and tell me hi. When I came home Tuesday I knew he was home because his scooter was in the parking stall, but I didn't hear him upstairs. When I went upstairs looking for him I still couldn't find him, but I found a surprise on our bed. He had decorated our bed with Swedish Fish, and had a cute saying on a poster. After I noticed our bed he came out of the bathroom laughing, it was definitely a surprise to me. That night we were really busy and we each had to leave and go to a meeting. After my meeting I ran to Smiths and bought a bag of treasures and came up with a way to reply to him. We had to drive separately to our institute class that night and after class I asked if he could come look at the car because it was making weird noises. When he opened the trunk I had my reply sitting there :)

Since I wasn't expecting to go to another formal dance I left all my formal dresses in Logan. Luckily I have an amazing sister-in-law who not only let me borrow one of her dresses, but she also did my hair. It was such a fun night, and Bryce was definitely my best date ever!!!

Crunch Time!

So... Bryce did so well on his Medical School interviews that he got not one, but FOUR acceptances! Great right? Yes, but let the stress begin. Each school requires a $500 nonrefundable deposit by December 15th to hold your seat. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. We are trying to decide on the best school, which will be the one we will pay. If you try to contact us, don't be alarmed when we begin reading off our pros and cons list to you!

Happy Halloween

Wow, I am so behind with this blogging thing! Halloween has been over for weeks now and I'm just posting pictures of our new Halloween traditions. We had to do our Halloween activities on Monday, for Family Home Evening, because Bryce had to work on Halloween. We began the night by having a "Spooky Dinner."

Bryce had to do all the ordering for us because I knew what everything was. This is Bryce's first course, Frank 'n' Stein, Swamp Blob, Devil's Staff, and Grave Digger.

My first course was Bat Fangs, Skeleton Goo, Dried Bones, and Dracula's Blood.

Bryce's second course was Mud, Mummy Wrap, Witches' Hair, and a Broomstick. My second course was Frank 'n' Stein, Swamp Blob, Devil's Staff, and Grave Digger.

After ordering our third course, we finally had a full meal which included spaghetti with sauce, breadsticks, salad with ranch and croutons, a drink with gummy worms frozen into ice cubes, and mud cups (chocolate pudding with oreos and gummy worms). It was delicious and so much fun!

After dinner, we began carving our first pumpkins together.

As you can see we are not wearing the same clothes as the pictures before this. It actually took us multiple hours on two different days to finish our pumpkins. Well actually Bryce finished his the first night, but mine took two nights!

Happy Birthday Mom

For my mom's birthday, Skyler and I decided to surprise her and drive to Logan for the weekend. Bryce was on an interview in Missouri. I left Cedar around 8:30, picked Skyler up in Provo (with balloons) at 11:30, and showed up at the Blue Bird, where mom was having her birthday lunch with grandma. She was so surprised and teared up a little bit!

For mom's birthday, the waitress brought out a huge banana split.

Our surprise was a great success! Happy Birthday to the BEST mom in the whole world. I couldn't have asked for a better role model. I love you so much!

Conference Weekend

Friday, Bryce had his 3rd medical school interview in Pennsylvania. Instead of flying into Vegas he flew into the Salt Lake airport and we were able to watch my sister play in her volleyball tournament all day Saturday.

Skyler was so lucky! He got to be the "flagger." Very technical I know.

My mom was an awesome scorekeeper! Although, she should have given us a few extra points :)

Sunday, Bryce and I were able to attend the afternoon session of General Conference. I love being a member of the church of Jesus Christ and having the opportunity to listen to the prophet and apostles testify of the truthfulness of the gospel.
